Overall Difficulty:
This is a multi paced ride that will be easy and will be very instructive for all riders. It will teach the road riding basics…..all the key items and considerations for riding on the road. For this ride we will be on the road (not a bike path) where vehicles will be present. Bena and I have chosen a very quiet road with minimal traffic, however, always ride at your own comfort level.
We will be learning how to ride in a group which will include an introduction to rotating in a pace line and following behind the rider's wheel in front of you. These are small skills that will make a big difference in riding. We will also go over some common hand signals for road riding.
Due to the group's size, we will break up into pace groups. Each group will ride together as a group. There will be no drops and no one will surge on ahead nor be left behind. The faster group can expect a 16 mile ride. The slowest group will be 10 miles.
Details:
Ride is a monthly event that will try to teach women riding skills of all kind. The goal is to have all attendees prepared to ride a road ride with a small group by the end of the summer. Please bring a bike, water bottle, flashing light, and helmet.
