WHAT IS A HYBRID RIDE

A HYBRID RIDE allows BCC members to be covered by the club's insurance and to get BCC mileage credit. This is an All Comers Ride meaning that no ride leaders will be provided and riders can choose to ride any of the posted routes (see below). Riders can ride any of the posted routes anytime on Wednesday. You are encouraged to ride with at least one other person if practical.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

To be covered by the BCC's insurance ALL BCC MEMBERS MUST REGISTER FOR THE RIDE each week. Following completion of the ride registered BCC Members will need to let me know that you completed the ride and which route you rode.

RIDE CREDIT

You can contact me (Terio Sutherland) via email:

terio.sutherland@gmail.com.  You should inform me of the completion of your ride within 24 hours. I will then complete a ride sheet sheet with your name and mileage and submit it to the BCC's statistician.

RIDING WITH OTHERS

* While riding by yourself is allowed the BCC is strongly recommending/encouraging you to ride with at least one other person or a group of up to 10 (no more than 10 please).

* RIDERS SHALL NOT COME TO A BCC APPROVED RIDE IF THEY DO NOT FEEL GOOD, HAVE BEEN RUNNING A TEMPERATURE, OR HAVE AN ACTIVE CASE OF COVID-19 (this includes Hybrid Rides).

RECOMMENDED RIDER ACTIONs

* Ride with a partner or small group (10 or less please)

* Wear and approved helmet

* Be visible (bright clothing and/or lights)

* Be visible (don't ride too close to the edge of the road)

* Carry a cell phone with you

* If riding alone let someone know your planned route, start time, and anticipated end time.

* Emergency contact information should be carried with you (this should be

   normal)

* Have an emergency backup that can come and get you if needed. The Hybrid Ride Leader is not responsible for support.

* Have water, food, etc. for the ride or a store stop scheduled

* Spare tubes, tools, etc.

* TAKE PHOTOS and share on the BCC's Facebook page

* If a registered rider decides to not ride he/she is requested to contact the ride leader

RULES OF THE ROAD

* In Kentucky cyclists are considered traffic and thus are expected to follow all traffic instructions (e.g., stop at red light/stop signs, signal

turns)

* Riders may ride two abreast

ACCIDENTS

If there is an accident and you need either medical assistance or need to report to law enforcement please dial 911 for emergency assistance. As soon as possible you will need to notify the ride leader Terio Sutherland at terio.sutherland@gmail.com  so he can complete the accident report for insurance.
