Primary ride leader: Libby Barnes, 859-388-4679 (Cell) 859-885-4109 (The Alternative Jewelry Shop) Additional ride leaders: More information about additional co ride leaders can be found closer to the ride time on Facebook or by contacting Libby.
Distance: Information about the distances and paces (including maps, cue sheets, elevations, and more for each pace/group) can be found closer to ride time on the BCC Facebook page or by contacting Libby. We hope to offer possibly three super scenic routes from which to choose - a 65 miler, a 63 miler, and a 39 miler with A/AB, AB, and B ride leaders. Libby Barnes will be leading an A/B pace for a longer distance route. Since a few of us will be racing the 5K, this will be a more “relaxed” A/B pace, but if you wish to hammer and do intervals, you are welcome. In fact, all paces are welcome, but you may be leaderless. Kris Davis has also kindly agreed to guide a longer route and there may be an additional guide to assist as well.
Pace: B Pace (14-16 mph), A/B Pace (16-18 mph), A Pace (18-20 mph)
Terrain: 2 - Easy Rollers, 3 - Moderate Rollers, 4 - Strenuous Rollers, 5 - Hilly, 6 - Significant Climbs Map and cue sheet both The ride will have regrouping Rain cancels - check bgcycling.org forum one hour before if unsure Restroom facilities are available nearby There will be a store stop
Please note pace is based on effort and terrain. Terrain will be challenging, (very challenging if you do the infamous Cobb Hill :) ), yet
We hope you will join us for the Fungus 5K and/or cycling throughout beautiful Estill County on Saturday, April 28, 2018. The Fungus 5K starts at 9:00 AM near the church. (Please see information
about the Fungus 5K at http://www.mountainmushroomfestival.org/event.html .) After strolling, jogging, or dashing through the 5K, we will then transition to biking gear. If you do not wish to complete the 5K – no problem, please still come and ride. Announcements will begin at 10:20 AM in the public parking lot and we will ride at 10:30 AM. The longer route or routes will have a store stop, but the shorter route will not have a store stop. All routes will be demanding , but you can turn your heels up at The Twin for a Cherry Ale-8 and a smile at the end! (http://www.estillcountyky.net/ ) Plus, after the ride, you can check out the many demonstrations, food vendors, shows, contests, booths, dancing, music, and take a sack of Morels home from the 28th Mountain Mushroom Festival! http://www.mountainmushroomfestival.org/
