Distance: This is a social event where BCCers and friends are invited to rent kayaks and/or canoes from a nice small business in nearby Paris. This is a fun enjoyable option for a Saturday afternoon after riding P4P and eating lunch. The Social Committee will provide a cooler with drinks and snacks.

The cost for renting a one-person kayak for 3 hours is $30. The cost for a 2 person canoe or kayak is $60 or $30 per person. Central Kentucky Canoe and Kayak has a nice easy launch point into Stoner Creek which is very calm in this area as there is a dam downstream. They can offer pointers for those new to paddling. You can enjoy paddling along a golf course, along the banks of Claiborne Farm, through some woods, as far as you want to go, looking for turtles, jumping fish and great blue herons. Just paddle as far as you like or just drift and enjoy dappled sunshine.
