About this event

Primary ride leader: Dixie Moore, 859-227-6165 Additional ride leaders: If you can lead a B or  A/B pace please volunteer.

I will sweep the ride. ;

Distance: B/C - 34 miles

A/B, B  - 43 miles

This is not a speed ride, the roads are narrow, twisty, moderately hilly to a few significant climbs and descents and have turns without good sight lines.

Pace: B/C Pace (12-14 mph), B Pace (14-16 mph)

Terrain: 5 - Hilly, 6 - Significant Climbs
Map and cue sheet both provided
The ride is swept
Rain cancels - check bgcycling.org forum one hour before if unsure
Restroom facilities are available at the starting location
There will not be a store stop

Overall Difficulty:

B/C  Moderate to occasional strenuous

B, A/B  Moderate

Details:

Starts at Parkway and US 127, parking lot next to Marathon Gas St.

Restrooms at the gas station however please make a purchase if you use their facilities. Good ride on a hot day, lots of wooden shade by the rivers. Good country roads however by the river occasional moss on the side, potholes and debris and two concrete culvert/bridges that with high water are flooded.

There are two distances, 34 miles for B/C and 43 miles for B, A/B.  The longer route has the extra miles in open farmland west of US 127. Both routes loop West through Anderson/Mercer Co., than twice down to KY River east of US 127.

No store stops on the routes. However on US 127  there is a Dollar General near Salvisa and a Kountry Kupboard on the longer route that is a mile off the route. I will ask to have water and some energy bars at the Warwick Compound on the Oregon Road  but  cyclists have to walk  back a gravel road..
