Primary ride leader: Libby Barnes, 859-885-4109 (The Alternative Jewelry Shop) 859-388-4679 (Cell)
Additional ride leaders: A/ AB (Libby Barnes), AB (Fred Steinbrecher), B (Paige Haydon), and BC (Gary Jenkins)
All are welcome, but we will only have ride leaders for the following paces and routes: A/ AB (102 mile route), AB and B (73 mile route), and BC (42 mile route). You are welcome to ride any route at any other pace, but you will be leaderless. There will be no SAG (support vehicle), but there will be store stops. If you plan on riding a route on your own, we suggest downloading the GPS map to your Garmin. Although having the assistance of the Garmin will be most helpful, it is not a requirement. If you ride part or all of a route on your own or if for any reason, you must call your own SAG, the sign-in sheet, snacks, and drinks will be available at our shop whenever or however you return.
Pace: B/C Pace (12-14 mph), B Pace (14-16 mph), A/B Pace (16-18 mph), A Pace (18-20 mph)
Terrain: 5 - Hilly
Map and cue sheet both provided
The ride will have regrouping
Rain cancels - check bgcycling.org forum one hour before if unsure
Restroom facilities are available at the starting location
There will be a store stop
All routes will be challenging, hilly, and hopefully reveal new roads. Please note pace and difficulty rating are based upon effort and terrain
If you are looking for a Redbud makeup century, an “out of the box” 73 miler, or an adventurous 42 route that you can conquer and still make it to that Derby party - we hope you will join us for the second ride of The Nickel Series. We will meet at the back of The Alternative Jewelry Shop at 118 ½ North Main Street, Nicholasville, Kentucky. Please park in the public parking lot directly beside the building which houses T.A.J.S., on the street, or in the public parking lot located across from the Jessamine County Health Department. Announcements will commence at 8:50 AM and we plan to roll at 9:00 AM. Please check Facebook, call Libby’s cell (859-388-4679), or call The Alternative Jewelry Shop (859-885-4109) for more details or questions. Snacks, drinks, and a restroom will be available before 9:00 AM in the back of T.A.J.S. as well. Please bring tire changing tools, tube(s), water bottle(s), and lights (if you have lights). Let’s ride for the roses!
