Bluegrass Bike Partner Program
The Bluegrass Bike Partner program was created to promote bicycling and establish a safe, supportive and welcoming relationship between cyclists, businesses, churches, public agencies, public and private organizations, and private individuals. This program is to identify Partners across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
What does it mean to be a Partner?
A Bluegrass Bike Partner is any individual, business or organization that wants to be identified as a location where cyclists know they are welcomed.
What does a Partner have to do?
Partners just need to be welcoming and offer at least one of the following:
- Bicycle parking
- Bicycle tubes and/or patches
- Basic bicycle tool kit
- Tire pump
- Use of restroom facilities
- Use of telephone for an emergency call
- Provide water to bicyclists
This is just a short list of other amenities that are useful to bicyclists but are not required:
- Lodging where bicyclist can securely store their bicycles
- Groceries and supplies
- Free Wi-Fi
- Shelter from weather conditions and elements
- An area where cyclist can stage a water and food stop for a ride
- An area where bicyclist can park their cars while they are on a ride
- A place to rest and relax
How are Partners identified?
Partners will be identified by either a sticker or sign place in a window or on their property. Stickers or signs are provided by the Bluegrass Bike Partner program.
How are Partners advertised?
Partners will be listed on the Bluegrass Bike Partner Facebook page, and on the Bike Partner Locations Map, and the BGBP Partner List on this website. Partners will also be mentioned in planned press releases, club news letters, and future advertising opportunities.
